With our hands in the soil we better understand our interdependence with nature and strive to be better stewards for this earth. The wondrous growth and life in the garden beds is another way to experience God's presence with us here on earth and to foster community, creativity and a place of peace.

Week of Aug 28
Thanks to Rick Kenyan for taking great care of our garden this past week. This week Liz Cowles has lots of harvesting to do! The tomatoes vines are full of fruit that are on the verge of ripening. This past week at coffee hour we had tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, basil, parsley, beans and cucumber to share. Be sure to come to coffee hour and take away some of the tasty garden treats so that you can enjoy them at home.

Volunteer Guide for Week of Aug 20
This week the garden is in need of water and harvesting. Keep an eye out for tomatoes turning red, peas filling out, cucumbers reaching harvest size, beans on the vine and herbs that could use a trim and in turn trim your plate. Harvest any zucchini before they get too big. There is an eggplant coming, but it may need some more time. Enjoy some of the harvest and please bring some to share at coffee hour next week. If you aren't able to be at church on Sunday, put the produce in the fridge and write a comment here or send me an email (bethany.a.shannon@gmail.com) and I will be sure to get it out for all to enjoy. Happy gardening!
Helping Hands
VBS and Sarah Scoville tended the garden this past week. Their small mouths even tasted the harvest. Thank you to all the helpers little and big.
